The Old Stables, Bungay (Sleeps 4)
Nestled in lovely countryside on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, close to the historic towns of Beccles and Bungay, and just a mile or so from the southern most Broads, the Old Stables offers cosy and welcoming accommodation for a family holiday or two couples.The sitting room has a lovely log burning stove and the property is amply equipped with some lovely finishing touches such as white bath robes ready and waiting for guests.
In the grounds of a large country house, The Old Stables has its own courtyard garden and a large and rambling private lawned garden with areas of shrubs and woodland and open fields beyond. There is garden lighting ideal for outdoor eating in the summer, bird watching from the warmth of the sitting room in winter. Surrounded, as it is with woodland glades and open fields, there are a host of wildlife to look out for including barn owls and bats, deer and badgers. The Old Stables provides a quiet and relaxing base for those looking to explore areas of North Suffolk and the Norfolk Broads, all of which are practically on your doorstep.
Bungay is a fascinating old market town with some wonderful antique shops, delis, restaurants and pubs, castle ruins and of course the river which opens up beyond the town to become the Broads. You can hire canoes or bikes and explore the countryside, swim at the lido in Bungay or take a short car journey to Southwold and have a day on the beach.
